The aid is fire-preventive both for the user and for the environment, and the preventive effect continues even with wilful interruption of the smoking process by the user. It can comprise a base with ash chamber, a housing for the tobacco, and a smoke guide with mouthpiece. The housing can be of non-inflammable material and interchangeably mounted, completely enclosing the tobacco. The ash chamber can be situated in a base whose weight is such that movement of the flexible connection to the smoker has no effect on this base. The connection can be stiff enough to maintain position in relation to the user's mouth when used by a cripple.
