The valves in the discharges from the chambers in the heating zone open into the smoke flue, and the adjacent chambers of the drying zone and further from the fuel zone are freely connected to each other, while the drying chamber furthest from the heating zone is shut off. Warm air is drawn off from the cooling zone via a separate passage and delivered to the chambers of the drying zone via tappings. The tappings can be connected to the fuel ports of the chamber, and the temperature of the hot air introduced raised by burners in these ports. The passage can run in the transverse direction above the oven chambers, with distribution pipes leading from it to the chambers.
