摘要
The demetallisation of residual oils before catalytic conversion is carried out by contacting the oil at high temp. and pressure, in the presence of H2, with a catalyst comprising one or more metals with hydrogenating activity on a support, the catalyst satisfying the following requirements: (1) p/d 3.5-0.02v, where p is the specific av. pore dia. (nm), d is the specific av. particle dia. (mm), and v is the percentage of the total pore vol. in pores with a dia. of 100 nm; (2) the total pore vol. is =0.40 ml/g; (3) v 50; (4) the specific surface is 100 m2; (5) when 3.5-0.02 p/d =10-0.15v, the N2 pore vol. is 0.60 ml/g, the specific surface is 150 m2/g and p 5 nm; (6) the catalyst contains 0.1-15 pts. wt. of the hydrogenating metals per 100 pts wt. of SiO2 support; (7) the loss on ignition of the catalyst is 1.0 wt. % (0.5 wt. % when vanadium is one of the hydrogenating metals). When condition (7) is met, catalysts satisfying requirements (1)-(6) have optimum activity. Catalysts satisfying requirement (1)-(5) are described in the parent patent.
