Post mounting on catcher rail - has stirrup lying flat against convex railside twisted to take post

The mounting is for use with channel and particularly W-section catcher rails along motorways etc., having a strip metal stirrup (2) with sections spaced apart and bearing flat against the rail (1) at least along the convex edges. These sections are joined via sections (4) twisted through a quarter of a turn onto others (5, 6) extending vertically. Together with the concave side of the rail these form openings through which the post (8) is inserted. The twisted sections can snap into engagement behind the rail edges. The stirrup sections can bear against the sides of the middle portion of the W-section rail also.
