TELEVISION DEVICE FOR RECOGNITION AND RECOGNITION OF SCENES WITH BAD LIGHTING

The television systems which gives a good quality image of poorly illuminated scenes, has a cathode ray tube coupled via an amplifier to the camera. The tube has a double layer screen with each layer having a different persistence time, and the voltage of the cathode ray tube can be adjusted to select either one of these layers so that the persistence time and therefore the integration time can be varied to suit the level of illumination. The integration time is altered by a sensor which controls the anode voltage of the cathode ray tube and monitors the camera image noise level; the integration time increases as noise increases.
