Di-and triene compounds - with pesticidal activity

Title compounds of formula (I) (where R1 and R2 are Me or Et, R3 is H or Me, A and B are each H or together represent an additional bond or an oxygen bridge, and X is -COOR, -CH2OR or -CONR4-R5 in which R is lower alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl and R4 and R5 are H or lower alkyl) are pesticides which act by interfering in the hormonal system of e.g. insects, disturbing the transformation to the imago, the laying of viable eggs and the development of normal eggs. (I) are practically non-toxic to vertebrates. A number of processes for preparing (I) are claimed and described in the specification.
