The equipment secures in lifted position, bridge plate of sidewards movable loading bridge. The bridge plate at its free end adjoining the ramp forms a vertically downwards projecting hook shaped extension with which the bridge plate pivots from lifted position in horizontal position in a top open U-shaped profile. The U-shaped profile is attached to the edge of the ramp and extends in a longitudinal direction of tdirattached to the edge of the ramp and extends in a longitudinal direction of the ramp. The bridge plate is fitted on its bottom surface with a pivotably mounted hook which, in lifted position of the bridge plate, embraces bottom part of the U-shaped profile. The hook is freely suspended and connected to an activating arm which can be moved from the top of the bridge plate to displace the hook.
