Numerically controlled tube-bending machine - using four decade switches and comparator, to allow for spring-back of the tube

Bending machine contains a reader unit for punched tape or cards on which the correct bending angles are recorded, and a counter which is adjusted by the tape or card to the angle required. Decade switches are also provided carrying adjustable bending angle correction values. The counter and the decade switches, (e.g. four switches) are connected to a comparator so that the relevant correction value can be fed into the counter, i.e. in bending a tube it is necessary to allow for spring-back; the correct angle. Thus eliminating human error in application of correction values.
