The domestic wine cask is made of wood in a decorative manner and has an inner vessel (1) of corrosion-proof material, such as glass etc. which also does not impair the taste of stored wine. An ice receptacle (40) can be clamped to the inner vessel by holding elements (44), having rubber abutment members (45). Preferably the ice receptacle can be secured to the inner vessel face and its adjacent wall may be suitably shaped for tight abutment. The ice receptacle may typically have an aperture (42), closable by a glass lid, for refilling and cleaning purposes. The cash may be formed by a base (3) with a removable upper part (4).
