Compact compresser unit and drive - with cooling arrangement, suitable for brake unit for vehicles running on rails

Compressor unit with electric motor, coupled through a flange, with the compressor, has an air cooler, with discs for bette air flow and cooling at least partly surrounding the compressor unit. The cool air is produced by a fan, fitted on the compressor shaft between motor and compressor. The fan is in a housing, provided with large openings for cooling air intake. The compressor is of the two stage type. The complete unit comprising motor, cooler and housing, compressor and coupling has three fixing points only for fitting to a vehicle frame with bolts and rubber buffers.
