The coupling and end pieces are on sealing units for horizontal joint gaps in facade elements in buildings, in elastic rectangular-cross-sectioned strip form. The coupling component consists of a plug connection, of approximately elongated S-shaped cross-section, and the end cap has the shape of a cross-section laid vertically to the cross-section of the coupling component. One of the arms may be prestressed in the direction of the centre section, so that the open space between these is greater in the area of deflection than in the open insertion area. SEaling in the unprotected joint gap areas is effected without recourse to time-consuming and sometimes insecure welding processes.
