Mechanised asparagus peeler - clamping members, and transverse sliding peeling blades automatically following outline

The universal asparagus peeler has a clamping device (15, 17) with adjustable rotation for clamping both ends of an asparagus shoot (19) whilst a blade head (6) connected to an electric drive motor moves to and for along the clamping shaft (8). The blade head has at least two peeling blades (7) resiliently biased relative to each other and displaced across the clamping shaft. Thus during the work stroke of the blade head, the peeling blades which are perpendicular to the centre axis of the clamped asparagus shoot slide along the asparagus shoot following its contour by virtue of their resilient design and peel off about 5 to 8 mm. The clamping members (15, 17) can then be rotated slightly so that when the blade head moves back on its return journey, two more similar strips are peeled off.
