Concrete surfaces mfr for roads or factory floors - using layer of lean concrete covered by epoxy-resin mortar

In mfg. concrete surfaces, a layer of lean concrete is applied to the sub-structure or foundation and, after the cracks and fissures have formed, a layer of epoxy-resin mortar is applied with a consistency such that the cracks in the surface of the lean concrete are filled. The binder for the lean concrete is pref. a high-grade, high-strength, rapied-setting cement. The pref. filler for the epoxy-resin mortar is silica flour and/or silica sand used in a ratio between 1:4.5 and 1:8.5, esp. a filler contg. 35-45% silica sand, size 0.4-0.7 mm with 45-60% silica sand, size 0.7-1.2 mm. Alternatively, a magnesite-base filler may be used. Used for the mfr. of road surfaces for motor vehicles involving high loads or factory floors with high compression strength. Provides improved strength and wear-resistance, and is completely inert to corrosive materials.
