Refuse comminutor comprises a housing (1) containing a high-speed rotating vertical shaft (2) with blades (6), a closable inlet opening (8), an outlet opening (14) at the lower end, and counter blades (9) fixed on the inside of the container wall. The distance between shaft blades and counter blades may be adjustable, or the counter blades may be adjustable with respect to length or angle of inclination. Fastening means for the counter blades comprise a cone (10) attached to the blade and fixed in a counter cone (12) on the housing by a screw (11).
