The mine conveyor with parallel conveyancing and coal plough chains, has a tensioning cable (61) parallel to them, in sections between tensioning arrangements spaced along the conveyor extending sideways from the conveyor, with the end of each cable section connected to a tension indicator (5) mounted on an extension (17) attached to the conveyor frame. This indicator has a plate attached to each cable and, opposed by a spring, and carrying a tension monitor and a contrast which operates an indicator mounted on a control panel, and also actuates a hydraulic control system by means of which a cylinder (80) can move the arm (10) which carries the extension (17). Also another frame (7) alongside this arm is controlled by a further cylinder which pulls a cable (70) attached to the frame (7).
