The carburettor has a main passage (2) with an air inlet (3) at the top and a mixture outlet (4) at the bottom. It contains a throttle (5) with a link (6) to a fuel metering valve (8) between the float chamber (12) and the main fuel inlet passage (13). A branch (16) from this terminates in the main jet (18). The fuel passage continues past a calibrated orifice (19) to the slow running jet (20). This is extended by a pipe (22) running at right angles to the main passage and then turning down so that the opening (23) of the slow running jet is in the centre of the main passage. The introduction of fuel in this position prevents the condensation of fuel on the sides of the manifold.
