Pulsed gas discharge lamp - has specially high mechanical stability against acoustic waves generated by electric discharges

It consists of a lamp envelope with a dielectric exit window transparent for the generated radiation, inside which the metal electrodes and phosphor are placed; radiation is generated by the pulse discharges between the electrodes, with a large proportion of the radiation passing through the witdow. The lamp inner volume is divided in at least two parts separated by a transparent partition, with the filling gas being the same in both part which communicate with each other; part contains the electrodes, and part the exit window, or is partly limited by it; geometry and position of the transparent partition is such, that a larg part of the radiation cone, defined by the electrode centre and the window aperture, passes through the partition.
