An installation for the continuous prodn. of boiled sweets having arrangements for dissolving, mixing and pre-boiling sugar and glucose; a vacuum finish-boil for thickening the mass of syrup, and injection pumps for additives such as gelatine, fragnancies, colourings, acids, etc. has a common drive for the feeders, for water, sugar and glucose to the mixer/preboiler, as well as for the injector pumps; the speeds of the pumps relatively to each other and to the feeders for the pre-boiler, being unalterable. Behind the vacuum finish-boiling arrangement there is a cooler through which the mass of syrup is pumped at a delivery speed corresp. to those of the feeders to the pre-boiler. The additive feeding points follow the cooler with mixing zones for the particular additive and the syrup. Both hard boiled as well as chewing sweets of absolutely constant quality and size can be produced at an infinitely variable rate of manufacture, without the need of manual regulation of the feed of the additives.
