Hydrometallurgical processing of copper nickel concentrates - by very fine grinding with alkali and oxidative acid leaching

Parent Patent discloses a process for the hydrometallurgical processing of Cu pyrites or bornite concentrates by (i) very finely grinding, with addn. of alkalies, esp. NaOH in ball mill stirrers, and (ii) an oxidising acid leaching step in the presence of O2 and an Ag catalyst. Present Patent of Addn. claims use of Parent Patent process for working up Cu-Ni concentrates. After grinding with addn. of NaOH soln., Cu-Ni concentrates can be solubilised with the help of an Ag catalyst under very mild temp. and press. conditions in autoclaves.
