Device for forming a yarn lap on the inner winding of a bobbin includes an extension on the end of the yarn winding spindle, the extension which is adjacent the free end of the yarn bobbin is provided with a yarn guide forming the lap whose windings extend towards the bobbin. Used for splicing yarn end to replacement bobbin when the yarn on the currently unwinding bobbin is exhausted. Lap forming device is simplified w.r.t. known devices.
