Double wire twisting spindle having a housing which is enclosed by the yarn ballon and which supports a yarn winding bobbin onto which is laid the yarn, is provided with a clutch for the reciprocable yarn guide, the clutch interrupting the drive to the guide and a displacement device which connects the clutch automatically following the winding of a predetermined number of coils at one end of the bobbin. Formation of first few coils on the end of the bobbin permits knot-free winding of the yarn onto the bobbin.
