A venturi attachment has a deformable tube wall provided on a tube (1) and setting devices for bringing about a relative motion between tube sections which are separated by distances from one another in order to alter the pipe cross-section between the various tube or pipe regions. Other elements used to maintain a constant cross-sectional area within the pipes are also provided. Slits (2, 6) are present in the tube or pipe walls which run along the pipe walls and allow deformation of the pipes. One or more springs can be provided on the outside of the pipes to compensate for mechanical loading arising from operation of the movable end ring.
