Spotlight for traffic warning systems or building sites comprises a lens (1) with light-scattering elements (5, 7), and a spot-like light source (1a) of which the beam is directed onto the lens so that the quotient of partial light beam is directed onto the lens so that the quotient of partial light beam and partial surface at the lens is constant and the light emitted by the lens is divided into two dihedral angle regions of which the first is at least twice as large as the second, and both are related to the main optical axis or plane. Pref. the lens is covered with light-scattering elements (5) belonging to the larger dihedral angle so that light emitted in this angle region is produced by identical lens elements distributed uniformly over the whole lens surface.
