A traffic accident warning information providing system which, when a traffic accident information providing site (4) receives traffic accident warning information inquiries including current positions from mobile communication devices (5, 9) searches map data and traffic accident data and extracts traffic accident frequencies at respective points on roads in the vicinity of the current position of the mobile communication device (5), generates traffic accident warning information in association with the map of an applicable area, and transmits the information to the mobile communication device. On the other hand, the mobile communication device (5) detects the current position, transmits a traffic accident warning information inquiry including the current position to a specific traffic accident warning information providing site (4), receives in return traffic accident warning information sent from the site (4), and displays it along with a road map including the current position. Whereby, it is possible to call the attention of users carrying mobile communication devices (5, 9) to traffic accident-frequent locations on travelling or walking roads and on roads adjacent to them.
