Transistor amplifier for large and small output power

The transistor amplifier, for high and low output powers, has a bootstrap circuit consisting of a capacitor and resistor to increase the output power when only low supply voltages are available, e.g. as in radio and television receivers. The output power can be reduced only by omitting the bootstrap circuit. A heat sink for the amplifier is arranged so that the heat generated by the power loss arising from the omission of the bootstrap circuit can be conducted away adequately to prevent the output stage's temperature rising above its permissible limit. The amplifier can be used to drive a loudspeaker.
