Hydraulic straightening press - has frame made from two plates designed to absorb vertical and horizontal stresses

Straightening press, esp. for plates, beams and similar workpieces, using a press frame to support a press table, and a ram in a drive unit which can be moved horizontally along the frame. Specifically the frame is made from two plates, and the ram driving unit is located between the plates which each possess a window, the top edges of the windows transmitting the vertical stresses from the drive unit to the frame, whereas the bottom edges of the windows support the press table. The inside surfaces of the two plates are pref. provided with a thrust face transmitting the horizontal stresses from the drive unit to the frame. The simple design results in savings in raw materials, prodn and assembly times, while providing working accuracy reliability and high performance.
