Determination of correlation characteristics of binary series - uses sequential comparisons of pulse trains in two digital memories

A method for checking the complete correlation characteristics of digital pulse trains, in which n successive values of a first train fed into a digital memory (SR1) are compared with a value in a second memory (BS) to determine autocorrelation values and thence the parity with values from a second train. After each n operations of comparison in each memory a single successive pulse value is entered and a further n comparisons made. After N comparison series, where N determines the accuracy of the result, the results are used to step a binary counter forwards for parity and backwards for non-parity (Z1), with the numerical values fed after each step to a third memory (SR2, SR4) used to reset the first counter (Z1). The final result is extracted from the third memory (SR2, SR4) and related to the number of comparison series N.
