BELT ELEVATOR WITH STAGGERED EDGE ROLLERSABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREIn a bulk material handling apparatus especiallyadapted for handling granular material a pair of flexiblebelts are arranged about drive and idler pulleys to providea material receiving run of one belt, a substantially verticalrun or section where the belts are in face-to-face contactfor receiving and transporting the material therebetween,and an upper material delivery run where the material isdischarged at a different level. In the change of elevationsection, staggered rollers are provided to urge the edges ofthe belts into engagement with one another so as to sub-stantially eliminate leakage or spillage of material fromtherebetween. The edges of the belts are stretched infollowing a sinuous path between the edge rollers therebycausing the confronting belt edges to firmly engage oneanother.
