The antigenic fractions from a culture of pathogenic bacteria give a U. V peak at 280nm and, when compared to an immunoserum produced in an animal from the same culture, gives a band or pair of bands closest to the antigen in the diffusion test in agar medium and in ummunoelectrophoretic analysis. Vaccine contg. this antigenic fraction is also claimed.
