The reflecting membrane is held over a circular padded frame and a similar non-reflecting membrane is fixed to its bottom. The space between is filled with gas or liquid and sealed, the complete assembly being held in an outer casing and provided with a transparent cover. The lower membrane is fixed by a screw and washers to a cruciform shaped lever, one leg projecting through a slot outside the casing. Moving the lever this causes the two legs at 90 deg. to move over cams and alter the relative position of the centre of both membranes. A source illumination is provided.
