Engine ignition timing system based on pinking - sensitive detector on engine supplying actual pinking detector

A sensitive detector is mounted on the engine, and supplies a pinking detector. The latter supplies an artificial pinking generator, delivering opposite electrical signals whether or not actual pinking is occurring. The generator supplies an actuator rotating the ignition distributor. The sensitive detector can be a piezo-electric accelerometer, a restrictor gauge, or a pressure detector. The generator can supply voltage to a D.C. actuator. Each of the opposite voltages which it supplies to the actuator can be continually rising in absolute value.
