Nickel-based welding rod - contg. iron, manganese silicon and carbon at controlled levels

Welding rod alloy comprises 0.2% C, =4.5% Mn, 1.5% Si, 18-30% Cr, 5-50% Fe, 0.1-1% B, 3-9% H, bal. Ni and incidental impurities, pref. contng. =30% Ni. The alloy is used for welding workpieces of Ni base alloys using all main arc welding processes. Good weldability and good machinability are obtd.
