Pre-alloyed steel powder consists of a cast, comminuted Fe alloy contg. 2 or more carbides derived form Mn, Cr, Mo. V and/or Nb. Powder has grain-size 10(5), at O2 content 0.2 (0.15)% and has high resistance to oxidn. up to 1200 degrees C. Pre-alloy has better diffusion props. than ferro-alloy powders. Homogeneity is sintered steel is improved, leading to improved hardness and strength.
