A polymer hardened with a catalyst comprises w.r.t. wt. 100 pt. amine hardenable(prep)polymer chosen from polyurethanes cotng. free- NCO gps. epoxy resins, polymers contg. anhydride gps. which are able to form acid amides after reaction with diamine; 0.8-1.2 equiv. (w.r.t. active gps. in the (pre)polymer) crosslinking agent chosen from a complex of 4,4'methylene-dianiline and a salt chosen from NaCl, NaBr, NaI, NaNO3, LiCl, BiBr, LiI, LiNO3, and NACN and a complex of racemic 2,3-di (4-aminophenyl) butane and a salt chosen from Na Cl, Na Br, NaI, KCl, KBr, KI, RbCl, RbBr, RbI, CsCl, CsBr, and CsI, the ratio of dianiline or butane deriv. to salt in the complex being 3mol:1 mol. and 0.001-0.05 mol. equiv. hydroxy contg. cpd. (I). The hydroxy cpd. accelerates crosslinking. Thermal expansion and shrinkage is lessened as lower hardening temps. are used. The (pre)polymers can be used in their normal purposes. The pref. polyurethanes can be used e.g. automobile parts, shoe soles, clothing, tyres etc.
