1424032 Ion exchange ROHM & HAAS CO 26 Jan 1973 [26 Jan 1972] 4217/73 Heading B1J A process for the removal of ferrocyanide ions from aqueous solutions containing them comprises contacting the ferrocyanide ion-containing solution at a pH in the range 4 to 7 with a weakly basic anion exchange resin (i.e. one having a pKa in the range 6 to 10) in salt form, stripping the absorbed ferrocyanide ions from the exhausted resin by washing with an aqueous solution of a base, reconverting the stripped resin to salt form, and adjusting the pH thereof to a value in the range 4 to 7. The ferrocyanide may be formed in situ by adding a ferrous salt to an effluent containing cyanide ions. The base used for stripping may be aqueous sodium hydroxide.
