1425667 Short-stopping agents for diene polymerization BAYER AG 9 Jan 1974 [11 Jan 1973] 01078/74 Heading C3P A short-stopping agent for the emulsion polymerization of chloroprene and/or 2,3- dichlorobutadiene comprises a mixture of (a) diethylhydroxylamine and (b) a water-soluble amine, the amounts of (a) and (b) being 0À05 to 5 and 0À01 to 5 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of monomer(s) used, respectively. Examples of the water-soluble amine (b) are triethanolamine, N - methyl - di - (isopropanol) amine, and tri - (isopropanol)amine. More generally, any water-soluble amine of the formula may be used, wherein each R, which may be the same or different, is a C 1-10 hydroxy alkyl or alkyl group, provided that there are at least two hydroxy alkyl groups.
