TECHNETIUMM99M LABELLED RADIATION DIAGNOSTIC AGENT AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME

A stable, non-radioactive carrier consists of human serum albumin (I) and Sn2+ tartrate (II) in wt. ratio 50-150, pref. about 100:1 having pH 2-4. The carrier is prepd. by first dissolving a predetermined amount of (II) in a non-oxidising acid; then diluting with an aq. soln. (A), free of dissolved O2, to give a soln. of pH 2-4. Separately a soln. of (I) in (A) of pH 2-4 is made up, the solns. combined, and the pH of the final soln. adjusted to pH 2-4. Carrier is used for Na99mTcO4 giving diagnostic agents for examination of the lungs, heart, blood and brain. The carriers remain in a usuable condition for a long time and are stable against oxidation.
