new antibiotics am 31. alpha and gamma, eta (b) 31, and their method of preparation

摘要

Diaminoalditol derivs. (I) and diaminoalditol (II) and their acid addition salts are novel cpds. (where R = H or 1-12C alkanoyl). (I) are antibiotics active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria when administered parenterally e.g. in vivo activity in mice shows them to be effect against Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae. MIC tests against a wide range of organisms are described.
