1526129 Dewatering sludge TOKAI DENKA KOGYO KK 8 Oct 1976 [9 Oct 1975] 41960/76 Heading C1C Organic waste aqueous sludge is dewatered by adding thereto 0À5 to 30% by weight of hydrogen peroxide and 0À1 to 10% by weight of a metal ion with a tri or higher valent positive charge, based on the solid content of the sludge, while maintaining the pH at no more than 9 by the addition of acid or alkali to form stable organic flocs and subsequently conducting solid-liquid separation by settling, suction or centrifugal separation. Specified metal ions are FeSP2+/SP, AlSP3+/SP , CrSP3+/SP, CrSP6+/SP, TiSP4+/SP VSP3+/SP , VSP4+/SP and VSP5+/SP and specified acids and alkalis are hydrochloric, sulphuric and phosphoric acids, sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate and calcium carbonate.
