1526155 Interfolding webs PAPER CONVERTING MACHINE CO 4 March 1977 [11 March 1976] 09131/77 Heading B8R Apparatus for interfolding webs, e.g. x, y for tissue packages, comprises a folding plate 11, mounted on a frame, and having five folding edges 24, 25, 27, 28, 34, designed to fold webs x, y together and allow interfolding with an oncoming folded web pair 12SP1/SP produced by an identical folder upstream. A further edge 36 may be provided. The webs x, y are entrained to overlap at 18 on a roller 19 and web x is folded along edges 24, 27, 34 and y by edges 25, 28, 36, the edge 25 being adjustable. When lacing up the webs a fold of web x is pulled through gap 43 and then web y is fed so that its outer edge is turned over to move under adjustable edge 25. The folded webs are pulled through by rolls 14.
