Meat liquoring machine - with flap actuating proximity switch in feed inlet preventing dry running damage

A liquoring machine for minced meat comprises a perforated drum which is partly covered by an endless belt contacting a part of its periphery which includes a screw conveyor to feed the minced meat into the gap between drum and belt. A flap at the discharge end of the screw conveyor is linked to a switch which cuts off the liquoring machine drive in case of interruption in the meat supply. This ensures trouble free operation without any human interference or control. Any dry running of the liquoring machine which results in rapid destruction of the rubbing parts is eliminated. The machine can be run with a high throughput.
