The O2 content is determined using a solid electrolyte cell in which the O2 content for any particular E.M.F. which is dependant on the respective thermodynamic measuring cascade in a probe member, is itself measured and registered. A comparison curve between known O2 concentrations and a respective O2 content is then drawn-up. - Specifically with the help of electronic means the polarisation of the measuring probe through the current is automatically eliminated by potentio-static compensation. Only a single O2 concentration is used as a base for the comparison curve and with the aid of electronic means, from this single measurement, the comparison curve is automatically calculated via the total deviation of the EMF and the directional field of the EMF deviation due to temp. - Used espec. for determn. of O2 in liq. Na for nuclear reactor cooling systems.
