An active type mosaic constructional block for process con trol or display, has luminescent or light emmiting diodes (2, 3) as the indicator elements of the active mosaic block (6). The light emmiting or luminescent diodes (2, 3) are mounted within the active type mosaic constructional block (6) in a crossed or crosswise manner. The emitting diodes ((2, 3) med are manufactured such that they both emit light of the same colour. The diodes (2, 3) are mounted in a fitting (1) which has a round neck and is conically tapered with diodes (2, 3) protruding from its front surface (4).
