The mechanism is intended for controlling the temperature of the intake air of a combustion engine and is of the type in which a cold/ warm air mixing valve (8) upstream of the carburettor is actuated to produce the desired temperature, the valve being actuated as a function of the pressure at a point downstream of the carburettor and of the mixed air temperature upstream of the carburettor by a pneumatic actuator (9). The position of the valve is additionally made dependent on the temperature of the outside air. The arrangement may be such that, if the outside air temperature is below a predetermined value, the valve is positioned so that the warm air supply cannot drop below a predetermined value.
