Ducting for ventilation during mining and tunnelling - distributing air uniformly without turbulence or inconvenience to working personnel

Ventilation system comprising a ducting system into which duct sections are assembled, each having openings in the duct mantle for setting up jets of air, has flexible ducts. The openings in the duct mantles are covered by a net woven from 4, 5 warp and 4, 5 weft threads of 1500-1600 den/cm2; the threads being of polyester coated with a thermoplast. Gives a much better distribution of the ventilating air and thus improves the working conditions, esp. in the forward drifts. The arrangement is partic. applicable to flexible ducts which are used to large extent, and are proof against the corrosive action of the ventilating air, the net does not weaken the duct mantle.
