Harvesting machine for rows of corn - separates corn stalks high above stalk region above root section

The apparatus is for harvesting rows of corn where the corn stalk is separated from the root section and directly chopped. The corn stalks ar first topped by the separation before the separation from the root section. The corn stalks are separated high above the stalk region which is directly above the root section. The harvesting machine has a laterally displaced side moving mechanism higher than the corn cutting mechanism which separats the corn stalk above the root section. The side mowing mechanism is adjustable in height and can be swivelled from a working position, where it stands out transversely from a machine long side, into a transport position, in which it extends practically parallel to the vertical plane at the machine longitudinal side.
