The pressure storage system for firearm ensures the extension of the maximum pressure pulse for increasing the acceleration of a projectile. The cartridge chamber is filled with a high energy propellant or one which is more densely packed. The excessive gases generated on combustion initially are diverted into a pressure compensation chamber. Hence the overall pressure in the barrel bore and chamber is compensated so that the maximum value of the pressure does not exceed that on using conventional propellant charges. The pressure generates is continuously applied on the projectile in spite of the expanding vlume of the barrel bore as the projective travels. This arrangement ensues a longer maximum pessue exerting period and higher increased muzzle pressure for higher acceleration.
