The metering device is for electrically powered meal milling plant, in partic. for use with cereal grains of various kinds. It has a horizontally circulating communication tool surrounded by means of a sieve device and the feed input pipe (3) is attached between the sieve (8) and the housing (12). A metering gate (7) is situated in the sieve (8) near the input pipe (3), passing through an aperture in the sieve (8). The exit aperture (5) of the feed input pipe (3) is of the same size as the metering gate (7).
