The thermostat or pressure sensitive switch has contacts operated by a piston that moves down under the action of a force generated by the temperature or pressure sensing elements. The piston has a V-shaped notch in its side to accept the pointed end of a resetting pin. The pin moves at right angles to the piston and forces the latter up back into its original untripped position. Alternatively resetting the switch may be done, a pivoted pin rather than an axially sliding one. All the parts are located in the same housing.
