The public urban passenger rapid transit system involves junction point cross arms (14, 15) with outwards turned main guide surfaces (16, 17) between the vehicle support wheels (10). The points guide rollers are mounted on the vehicles with their rolling surface protruding into the open space between these wheels. The main guide cross arms (2-6) are mounted outside the vehicle track width, with inwards facing guide surfaces, and the main guide rollers have an outwards facing rolling surface, on both sides of the vehicle. Guides are provided for selective transverse displacement of vehicles within the crossover sector to either of the two sides of the track.
